The former house of chief chieftains, now the building of the clinic and hospital of the WKO Police Department

The building was built at the beginning of the 19th century by the Italian architect Delmedino. The house belonged to ataman D.M. Borodin. The appointed ataman Pokatilov bought this house with furniture with public money for himself and the future chieftains of the Cossack army. In the 19th century, great Russian writers stayed in this house: A.S. Pushkin (1833), V.A. Zhukovsky (1837), V.I. Dal (30s of the 19th century), L.N. Tolstoy (1862). Currently, the building houses the hospital of the Department of Internal Affairs and the museum of A.S. Pushkin.
